Murray American Energy, Inc. Confirms the Wage Reopener Agreement with the United Mine Workers of America

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Murray American Energy, Inc. (“Murray American”) has confirmed that the
Bituminous Coal Operators’ Association, Inc. (“BCOA”) has reached
agreement with the United Mine Workers of America (“UMWA”) on the wage
reopener in the 2016 Labor Agreement.

We are pleased to confirm that the parties have negotiated and agreed to
a wage increase at the five (5) Murray American Mines, where the hourly
employees are represented by the UMWA, with a $0.50/hour increase
beginning August 15, 2019, and an additional $0.50/hour increase
effective January 1, 2021. Additionally, the parties agreed, effective
January 1, 2021, to restore the birthday holiday that UMWA members gave
up when the current agreement was ratified in 2016.
