To honour the International Day of Forests, Bluegrace Energy is now the guardian of 4,447,065 hectares of Bolivian forests

LA PAZ, Bolivia, March 21, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — “Let’s adopt a forest”

A few months back, on the occasion of the International Day of Forests, we challenged one of our Board Members, Julio Montenegro, with a new mission: to help BLUEGRACE Energy find a way to reduce global warming and protect the environment. After thinking for a moment, Julio replied, “Well, let´s adopt a forest”.

After dozens of endless meetings and calls, we just got word from Julio that BLUEGRACE Energy has now signed the collaboration agreement for the administration and certification of forest management plans for conservation and restoration of 4,447,065 hectares of wild forest in Bolivia.

Our main goal with this agreement is to protect both, the forest and the local communities within. How?

For starters, we will issue Carbon Bonds backed-up by the forest lands acquired. Those new Bonds will be sold on the market and the cash funds obtained allocated for (i) 50% to BLUEGRACE Group; and (II) 50% to Bolivia in general and the local communities in particular.

With regards to the indigenous communities of Bolivia, BLUEGRACE Energy commitment with this allocation of funds is to improve and develop locally:

  • Infrastructure works in the fields of Communication (internet, with ROKiT CITIES; and phones, with ROKiT PHONES),
  • Schools (through BLUEGRACE EDUCATION).
  • Water treatment (thanks to BLUEGRACE ENVIRONMENT)
  • Hospitals and health centers (provided by BLUEGRACE HEALTH).
  • Housing (by BLUEGRACE CONSTRUCTION).
  • Transportation (thanks to ROKiT RIDE)
  • In addition, the BLUEGRACE Group will provide weekly distribution of Food and Water through direct deliveries to help the local communities of the area (BLUEGRACE FOOD & BEVERAGE / PH+).

We want to empower the local communities so that they can make a living that does not involve damaging the forest – which more often than not, unfortunately, is not a matter of choice nowadays.

To sum-up, by adopting a forest we will empower the local communities who will help us protect the forest, which will in turn help us mitigate the global warming and protect the environment and its biodiversity – once again, Julio did not disappoint.
