Amsted Automotive Brings its Advanced Powertrain Efficiency Solutions and Metal-Forming Capabilities to Japan for 2025 JSAE
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Amsted Automotive is bringing its advanced powertrain technologies and advanced metal-forming capabilities to Japan for the 2025 JSAE Annual Congress, taking place May 21–23 at Pacifico Yokohama. The company’s exhibit will focus on breakthrough innovations designed to meet the evolving needs of hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), electric vehicle (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) platforms.
One of the powertrain solutions in Amsted Automotive’s booth will be its production eAxle disconnect technology, engineered to deliver seamless, high-speed transitions between two-wheel and four-wheel drive in EVs and HEVs. With an energy-saving latching-in-state design, this system has the potential to extend the all-electric driving range of hybrid and electric vehicles by up to 10%.
Also on display will be Amsted’s Multi-Speed Shift Technology. This innovative solution incorporates Amsted’s integrated One-Way Clutch (OWC) functionality to enhance drivetrain efficiency, reduce cost and improve performance and range for both EV and HEV platforms.
Complementing its drivetrain advancements, Amsted Automotive will showcase its market-leading metal stamping. These precision manufacturing processes support the production of intricate, tight-tolerance components such as motor housings, carriers, hubs, welded assemblies and brackets, each designed to meet the high-performance demands of today’s vehicles.
In addition the booth will feature an innovative electro-mechanical wheel-end disconnect system, a joint project with ConMet, Amsted Automotive’s sister company. This advanced solution enables seamless engagement and disengagement of electric drivetrains in heavy-duty vehicles. It supports effortless towing, manufacturing safety and decking. It delivers near-instant torque release, improved fuel efficiency and all-electric driving extended range.
