International Leader Brings Advanced Genset Enclosure Technology and around 300 Jobs to Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — AVL Manufacturing, Inc. (“AVL”), a Canadian-based international leader in the design and fabrication of power generation and storage enclosures, announced today it has chosen Charlotte, NC as the company’s first US manufacturing location.

AVL’s Charlotte plant will add approximately 300 new jobs to the area. Offering competitive wages and industry-leading benefits, the 232,000 square foot plant is expected to open for business in September 2025.

Located at 13330 Sam Neely Road in Charlotte, the existing warehouse will be outfitted to support AVL’s complex fabrications for generator set (“genset”) enclosures. Used by well-known enterprise tech companies, the AVL’s specialized enclosures meet stringent requirements to contain a genset, protecting it from the elements, dust, and other environmental factors. Genset enclosures are part of an important and growing market segment in North America. The rapid growth of artificial intelligence and its intensive energy consumption are driving the need for more data centers, which rely on genset enclosures for backup power.
