Permian Strategic Partnership leveraged $1.8 billion investment into the community
In addition to a direct $184 million investment aimed to improve education, healthcare, workforce development, and road safety throughout the Permian Basin
MIDLAND, Texas, July 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP), a coalition of 27 leading Permian Basin energy companies and two university systems committed to strengthening and improving the quality of life for Permian Basin residents, released its 2024 annual report today, reflecting on the impact of their last six years. Since its creation in 2019, the organization has doubled its membership and committed a total of $184 million in philanthropic investments to generate over $1.8 billion in community support and collaborative investments. In 2024 alone, the PSP committed nearly $31 million to initiatives in education, healthcare, workforce development, and road safety.
The PSP and its members have dedicated their efforts to strengthen and improve the quality of life for the communities where their employees live, work, and raise their families. The announcement highlights the profound impact of these companies and universities on the region’s communities.
Since its founding, the PSP has emerged as a model of public-private partnerships and what can be accomplished when like-minded organizations collaborate to make impactful and lasting investments in their communities. Through these one-of-a-kind partnerships, the PSP has enhanced the quality of life for residents in the Permian Basin, spanning 22 counties in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico. The PSP’s collective investments over the last six years have been dedicated to addressing critical needs in the region, including:
- $80,100,000 in education investments impacting hundreds of thousands of students
- $63,400,000 in healthcare investments to strengthen and expand access for the region’s 2 million residents
- $13,700,000 in critical road safety initiatives, programs, and life-saving equipment
- $25,800,000 in workforce development to train and upskill the region’s current workforce
2024 was a banner year for new investments, including:
- $10,000,000 for the Ector County ISD Career Technical Education (CTE) Center to support construction and expand course offerings
- $10,000,000 to bring Harmony School of Innovation to Odessa
- $3,000,000 to launch the HERO program in the Permian Basin, improving road safety and emergency response, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation and Midland County
- $300,000 to enhance fire training through advanced courses and facility upgrades in partnership with the Seminole and Andrews Volunteer Fire Departments
