Vancouver, British Columbia – TheNewswire – 20th October, 2026 – Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) (the “Company” or “Western Star”), further to its news release of 13th October, 2026 outlining the planned drill program at the Rowland Tungsten Property, is pleased to announce the priority drill targets and a planned four-hole, approximately 1,950-foot (594-metre) drill program for its 100% owned White Star Tungsten Project, approximately 4 kilometres south of Rowland in Elko County, Nevada, USA. Together with the six holes planned at Rowland, the Company’s planned 2026 Nevada drill program now comprises 10 holes totalling approximately 5,000 feet (1,524 metres) from seven drill pads across the two properties.
The White Star drill targets were developed using the same integrated approach applied at Rowland, combining the maiden White Star field program, the UAV magnetic survey and three-dimensional magnetic inversion, the rock-chip and soil assay results. Each planned hole tests one of the two tungsten-in-soil anomalies defined at White Star in 2026, the North Zone and the South Zone, and, as at Rowland, every planned drill pad is sited on existing disturbance. White Star is the third project in the Company’s U.S. tungsten portfolio to reach the drill-target stage in 2026.
Key Highlights:
-
Completes the planned 2026 Nevada drill program: White Star adds four holes and approximately 1,950 feet to the six holes and approximately 3,050 feet announced at Rowland on 13th October, 2026, for a combined 10 holes and approximately 5,000 feet (1,524 metres) from seven drill pads.
-
Two priority drill targets defined at White Star – the North Zone and the South Zone – the two tungsten-in-soil anomalies defined by the 2026 Phase 2 soil program.
-
Planned four-hole, approximately 1,950-foot (594-metre) program from three drill pads, all sited on existing disturbance. Hole locations are preliminary and subject to adjustment pending field verification and permitting.
-
North Zone (two holes, 1,000 feet): holes test beneath the rock-chip sample WS-16-01 (0.126% WO₃) and beneath the southern part of the soil anomaly, which is developed across the quartz monzonite – tactite contact mapped by Coats (1964).
-
South Zone (two holes, 950 feet): holes test beneath soil sample B206 (2,230 ppm W; 0.28% WO₃), the highest value returned at White Star, and the adjacent anomalous samples B205 and B203.
-
Plan of Operations submission to the U.S. Forest Service and the Nevada Bureau of Mining Regulation and Reclamation reclamation permit are advancing in parallel, with the objective of drilling Rowland and White Star as a single, district-scale campaign.
Blake Morgan, the CEO and President of Western Star, stated “Following our Rowland announcement, White Star moves into the drill-target stage on the back of the same integrated field season. The Batholith Mine is the only documented historical tungsten producer in the Charleston Mining District, and our maiden program has built a modern dataset around it for the first time. With both Rowland and White Star now ready for drill testing, the consolidated Jarbidge–Charleston tungsten footprint can move into the drill program as a single, district-scale campaign of ten holes and approximately 5,000 feet.”
Drill Target Inventory
As at Rowland, the White Star drill targets were generated from the coincidence of the tungsten-in-soil anomalies defined by the Phase 2 soil program with the contacts modelled by the three-dimensional magnetic inversion, the historical workings and the 2026 rock-chip sresult. (Figure 1, Table 1).
The planned drill holes are preliminary in nature. Collar and pad locations, hole orientations and lengths remain subject to adjustment pending field verification, permitting and final program design.

North Zone
At the North Zone, WST26-01 is collared on the existing road (WSN-PAD-1) beside the rehabilitated historical pit at rock-chip sample WS-16-01 (0.126% WO₃) and is drilled steeply north-east at −70° beneath the pit, reaching the 0.005 SI margin of the weakly magnetic body modelled by the inversion at approximately 136 metres (446 feet) down-hole. WST26-02 is collared on a cleared flat at the end of a short existing road spur (WSN-PAD-2) and is drilled west-northwest at −45° beneath soil samples B064 (47.4 ppm W) and B047 (105.5 ppm W) on the southern side of the anomaly. The North Zone is developed across the contact between the quartz monzonite and the tactite and calc-silicate hornfels mapped by Coats (1964), the conventional setting for tungsten skarn mineralisation (Figure 2).
Figure 2: North Zone – plan and cross-section A–A′ through planned holes WST26-01 and WST26-02, with modelled magnetic susceptibility and the soil anomaly.
South Zone
At the South Zone, both holes are planned from a single pad (WSS-PAD-1) testing below soil sample B206 (2,230 ppm W). WST26-03 is drilled west at −50° beneath B206 and B205 (92.1 ppm W), passing beneath the mapped trace of the interpreted magnetic-low lineament at approximately 120 metres (394 feet) down-hole. WST26-04 is drilled south-southwest at −55° beneath B205 and B203 (49.2 ppm W). The inversion shows the South Zone overlying a non-magnetic trough, flanked by weakly magnetic ground to the north-east and at depth to the south-west, that coincides with the interpreted magnetic-low lineament; the planned holes test the soil anomaly within this low (Figure 3).

Permitting and Path to Drilling
The Plan of Operations for the proposed drill program at White Star is being prepared by KC Harvey Environmental for submission to the U.S. Forest Service, in parallel with the Nevada Bureau of Mining Regulation and Reclamation reclamation permit, and is being advanced alongside the Rowland program so that both properties can be drilled in a single campaign. Pad locations, access and hole designs remain subject to field verification and permitting. The Company will provide further updates as permitting milestones are reached.

Technical Notes
No new assay results are reported in this news release. Soil, rock-chip, float and channel sample results referred to in this news release have been previously disclosed by the Company. Soil geochemical values represent surficial dispersion and are not, and should not be interpreted as, indicative of grade or of any mineral resource. Soil anomalies are defined at the 90th percentile of the routine Phase 2 soil population (23.1 ppm W for the White Star survey). Rock-chip and float samples are selective by nature and are not necessarily representative of the mineralisation. WO₃ values are calculated from elemental tungsten (W) using a conversion factor of 1.2611.
Gridded tungsten-in-soil images were generated from the Phase 2 soil results by inverse-distance weighting of log-transformed tungsten values on a 5-metre grid, limited to within approximately 60 metres of a sample. The grids are presented to illustrate the distribution of tungsten in soil and are not, and should not be interpreted as, estimates of grade.
The three-dimensional magnetic inversion was completed by East Coast Consulting from the Company’s 2026 UAV magnetic survey and models magnetic susceptibility in 25-metre cells. Modelled susceptibility contacts are interpretations of a non-unique geophysical model rather than direct observations of geology, and their position and depth may differ from those encountered in drilling. Down-hole depths to modelled contacts quoted in this news release are measured along the planned hole from the collar and are approximate.
